I started Liberated Labor & Delivery officially in the summer of 2021. I took the Comprehensive Class during my own pregnancy in the fall of 2020. As we all know, 2020 was a WILD year. For me, March 2020 consisted of getting married, almost getting stuck in Canada leaving our honeymoon because of you know what, finding out we were pregnant, the country locking down, and closing on our first home. That was our first month of marriage!
Anyway, I end up in care with an incredible midwife, educate myself throughout my pregnancy (lots of free time during a pandemic), take this birth class, and decide I want to get into birth work. My husband and I weren’t 100% sure if I was going to quit my day job just yet (spoiler: my last day was the day before our son was born), but I signed up for the instructor training anyway and boy am I glad that I did!
When I’m not passionately discussing birth, you can find me sipping on cold coffee (#momlife), baking sourdough bread, and soaking up snuggles with my babies!
